We are proud to share that Haiti National Trust was recently represented at the Global Sustainable Islands Summit 2025, held in St. Kitts and co-hosted by Island Innovation and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis. This global event brought together island leaders, environmental experts, and practitioners to exchange ideas and strategies for a more resilient and sustainable future for island communities.
Our Executive Director, Anne-Isabelle Bonifassi, joined the panel “Preserving Caribbean Ecosystems: Strategies for Island Conservation,” alongside key regional actors such as the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF), The Nature Conservancy (TNC), and others. Her presentation highlighted the powerful work we are doing in Haiti to reverse environmental degradation, restore biodiversity, and revive critical ecosystem functions that support both nature and communities.
Haiti, like many island nations, faces immense environmental challenges but it is also a place of extraordinary resilience and potential. Our approach, grounded in collaboration, innovation, and deep respect for local communities, is already showing that large-scale ecological restoration is possible—and underway.
We are grateful for the support of Sunrise Airways, a proud sponsor of Haiti National Trust and this Summit, and Re:wild, whose support and partnership helps drive our impact. Together, we are building a stronger, more sustainable future for Haiti and the wider Caribbean!
